Regional Community Development Programme

The Regional Community Development Programme is a 3-year Project (2006-2009) aimed at supporting and strengthening 30 black and minority ethnic (BME) groups in their embryonic/development stages across the South West region.

The Regional Community Project Officer’s role is to encourage and assist new groups in their initial development stages, by developing the organisations through marketing and promotions, recruiting new members and providing access to adequate funding/training.

Interface Project

The Interface Programme in the SW is working directly with BME groups to help frontline organisations access information, support and resources as well as improving their performance. The programme is working with BME groups and Benchmarking and Action Learning are central to the project. This involves a Capacity Building Officer (CBO) recruiting a number of groups and targeting the most established ones in the following four areas of organisation development performance, to set the benchmark for the under-developed groups:

  • Management and Leadership
  • ICT Capabilities
  • Volunteer & Workforce Development
  • Partnership & Participation
