Raising Aspiration & Attainment

CEMVO Southeast Regional Office has been awarded a contract by West Berkshire Council to run ‘Raising Aspirations & Attainment’ project. The Project aims to raise aspiration and attainment by delivering personal development programmes in: ICT, Basic Skills, and Job-search Skills focusing mainly on the BME communities but, also welcoming other communities requiring support who are mainly residing in the area of West Berkshire. CEMVO Southeast Regional Office hopes to support those who have been out of work or wish to enter/re-enter the labour market after a period of absence. The project will give an opportunity for those who require coaching in confidence, self-esteem, skills development and opportunities to gain employment opportunities.


The project will be delivered for 4 hours per week, focusing on individual learning needs. These needs will be identified by completing an Individual Learning Plan (ILP). This plan will register the learners interests, hobbies, past & current learning and employment history and expectations /achievements of the programme. The project will be open to all communities, who require support in developing their skills and qualifications.


Project Aimed at ,
  • Specific minority groups including travellers, people with English as an additional language, vulnerable adults and families
  • Male learners
  • People with low levels of skill or without a level 2 qualification
  • People living in the following areas Calcot, Clay Hill, Greenham, Lambourn Valley, Speen, St John’s, Thatcham North & Victoria
Impact of the Project,
  • 1. Learners will develop confidence and self-esteem
  • 2. Proficiency in ICT development as per their ILP
  • 3. Learners will increase their language skills for everyday use
  • 4. Learners will have skills in interview skills and Job-search
After Completing the project the following will be achieved,
  • Learners moving onto other programmes of learning
  • Achieve a certificate
  • Move into employment
  • Move into volunteering within a voluntary organisation and further develop skills

Interface project

CEMVO’s Interface project is an ambitious and innovative project funded by the Capacity Builders through their ChangeUp programme. The aim of the project is to enhance the access to capacity building and support for front-line organisations through infrastructure support that may not have been reached in previous ChangeUp programmes.


Aims of the project are to,
  • enhance the interface between existing infrastructure providers and frontline organisations
  • enhance a joined up approach-between Infrastructure and frontline organisations
  • support frontline organisations to deliver public services
  • promote good practices through benchmarking exercises

Tax Credit Surgeries
