Providing the tools
The voluntary sector, especially the minority ethnic part, works mainly from sub-standard premises with poor resources. This lowers their efficiency and detracts from their status – thus their ability to deliver services and influence change is diminished. It is our objective to ensure that “fit for purpose” premises are obtained for voluntary organisations by negotiation on their behalf with the third sector and other sources of funding and property owners.
Building the community
There are many disused buildings owned by government, local authorities and other land lords. CEMVO has the know-how to be able to acquire these buildings or assist other organisations in acquiring and bringing them into community use, for example as offices for charities and social enterprise, business incubators or training/conference or meeting resources.
